Anthony J. Adams, Jr.

Anthony J. Adams, Jr. holds a B.A. degree from Indiana University and is a 1980 graduate of Albany Law School. He has been in private practice since completing a clerkship for New York State Supreme Court Justice David O. Boehm in 1983. Trained and experienced in civil litigation, he dedicates much of his practice to representing contractors, construction managers, designers and other construction industry participants in contract negotiation, claims, labor relations, risk management and other general business matters. In 2007 he was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for Construction Law.

Mr. Adams handles contract and other commercial disputes before state and federal courts (both trial and appellate) in New York and elsewhere including the New York State Court of Appeals, where his cases have established limits on the public use of project labor agreements, and have expanded the availability of lien law remedies to unpaid vendors on construction projects. He also practices before various arbitral forums and before government agencies, including the New York State Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board.

Mr. Adams is a member of the American Bar Association (including its Forum on the Construction Industry), the New York State Bar Association (including its Labor and Employment Law Section), and the Monroe County Bar Association. He is also associated with the General Building Contractors Association of New York (GBC) and the Rochester Builders Exchange. He has lectured on construction law and litigation topics for GBC, the New York Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), the New York State Bar Association, Lorman Education Services, and others.

Mr. Adams serves on the Board of Directors of the Catholic Family Center of Rochester New York, is a former chair of the Monroe County Catholic Schools Board and coaches CYO basketball.
